Censorship can never be justified. Do you agree?

Censorship means the use of the state and other legal or official means to restrict speech. It is the suppression of ideas and information that individuals, groups or government officials find it
objectionable or dangerous.

To me, I feel that censorship can never be justified. This is because, the degree of sensorship can only be determined by how consevative an individual, group or government is. The more conservative they are, the more stringent they are on censorship issues; and vice versa.

From research, there are four common types of censorship the first is moral censorship, which is the most common. Moral censorship many result when some people believe they have the right to force their values on others. The second type of censorship is military censorship, which means during a war, battle plans, troop movement schedulable, weapons and other information that could help the enemy. The third type of censorship is political censorship that is used by the government for fear that free expression of criticism and opposing ideas. The government officials believe that criticism to the government or opposing to the war could aid the enemies. The final type of censorship is Religious censorship, which occurs in some nations where the government is dose to one religion or where religious feelings run high.

However, I feel that in this context, media censorship is the main idea. And why is media censorship present? I personally feel that media censorship is taken into action when language issues, sex issues, porn issues and racism issues takes place. Such information are censored so as to prevent the society to be corrupted by the negative opinions of these issues. It serves to protect the overall image of the society.

Censorship is cannot be justified because some censorship may be unfair.

Therefore, overall, I find that censorship cannot be justfied.

The problem with the modern media is they do not have a sense of social justice. Do you agree?

The problem with the modern media is they do not have a sense of social justice. Do your agree?

Modern as defined in the dictionary is present, media is defined as the means of communication, as radio and television, newspapers, and magazines, that reach or influence people widely. Social jusctice is referred to as the distribution of advantages and disadvantages within a society.

I agree that the modern media do not have a sense of social justice. I feel that modern media should be the medium to convey reading facts to readers and to educate the public with latest events and updates on the news. These medium of media should be used properly and in the correct manner, like just purely telling facts and information.

However, through the examples of blogs and downloads, it clearly shows that modern media is being misused. Bloggers made use of blogging to gain fame and popularity. They teach the younger generation wrong things such as to criticize a person on their blogs. Although each and everyone of us is allowed to have our freedom of speech but it is too skeptical and not upright to badmouth someone in a public blog, especially if the name is made known and the person is obvious to readers.

Modern media had caused many illegal acts to be commited. One of which will be the illegal downloading of files. The internet allowed users to download files illegally, most of the time, users are being tempted to do so.

Overall, I feel that modern media do not have a sense of social justice.

The media is corrupting our society. Do you agree?

The media is corrupting our society. Do you agree?

Personally, I feel that the media is corrupting our society but to a small extent only. To me, the media acts as a medium to convey messages to the audience. They update us with the latest news and provides us with facts and important information.

Various forms of the media are television, reading materials, the radio etc. Through the television, and reading materials such as newspapers and magazines, we get exposed to advertisements allow us to get information on the latest fashion or events which are happening around us and the news keep us updated on events which are taking place.

However, media can corrupt our society by confusing us with truths and lies. For example, the news may not report on all facts. They may alter some parts of the news and tell us information which are questionable. In fact, news reports are usually edited and not all truth is told to the audience.

Virginia Tech Massacre

The Virginia Tech massacre was a school shooting that unfolded as two separate attacks about two hours apart on April 16, 2007, on the campus of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States. Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 people and wounded many morebefore committing suicide, making it the deadliest shooting in modern United States History.

The Virginia Tech Massacre was not just merely a shooting. There are more stories underlying behind it, just that we do not seem to know what they are. It was identified that Cho, the killer of the massacre was not in the right state of mind since a long time ago, but no one managed to realise that he is actually very "hazardous". A distinguished psychiatrist and psychotherapist who works with the mentally ill saw mental illness when he saw the video which Cho produced. He said that there are a lot of red flags here for some schizophrenialike or psychotic disorders.

The predominant initial theory, which still retains support, is that Cho suffered from anger fused with depression. With school shooters, the anger almost always begins with a loss. It will turn inward and result in depression. Most patients get help or get over it; some get worse and kill themselves. But in Cho's case, he chose to kill more people, including himself.

Thinking back, do you think Cho should be the only one resposible for this accident? Should there be more people involved, for example, people who aggrevated him?

Nowadays, the mass media do not report the news; they make the news.

Yes. I agree to the above statement to a small extent.

I personally feel that mass media has become an important part of our lives. We can live without media, such as, television, radio and newspapers. Without media, we will not learn about things which are happening in our everything life. It serves a important tool to convey important messages to everyone in the world.

To me, I feel that not all information reported in the news or reflected on the media are true. Media censors information given to them, they report things which attracts readers. Sometimes, the media exaggerates news in order to keep readers anticipate for more. One example would be Huang Na's death.

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/cgi-bin/search/search_7days.pl?status=&search=Huang+na&id=157756

The media played a major role in reporting Huang Na's incident. They in fact caused exaggerated a lot of things and made the readers sympathize with the victim's family. A donation drive was even carried out which let her family gain a lot of monetary benefits, which was not necessary at all. During the period of time when Huang Na was found to be missing and eventually died, the newspapers, televison news and radios were all flooded with her news. Although I agree that the incident should be given great attention but the attention given was way beyond the maximum.

The media; i mean paparazzis sometimes distort truths or report news which strains relationships among people like couples. One example would be the breakup of Prince William and his girlfriend.

http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/04/14/britain.william.reut/index.html?eref=edition_europe

After reading the article, I felt that relationships are very fragile and see how much impact the media has on the society and individually? I feel that the media is merciless, they report news in whichever way they like as long as they achieve their motive of attracting more readers or viewers. But, in actual fact, the media is suppose to be truthful and used as a tool to convey news and messages to the audiences.

Generally, I feel that the media do report news. It is just that they are very selective of the information given to the public. Not everything we get from the news are facts, they may be edited or censored so they its gives a better overall picture.

' youtube has no ethics, it's been created for the sold purpose of entertainment and money '

Youtube is a very common website for most internet users.
I believe that youtube was established for the sold purpose of entertainment and money. The main objective of a youtube viewer is to watch movies online for free. I believe that youtube exists because it is keen to attract internet users to join in their entertainment career.

Any online users are able to excess to youtube. Not only are they able to watch video clips on the website, they are also able to upload their own videos for other users to view online. It is a very popular place to obtain video clipos and movies because it is free access and there are no limitaions to the kind of video clips you watch and no limitations to the number of times you can view the video clips. Internet users are able to watch the latest TV dramas or movies on youtube even before the TV drama or movie is being officially launched. Therefore, viewers have the advantage of viewing the latest clips online via youtube.

It is important to note that youtube does not produce the video clips on its own. The video clips shown on youtube are clips which are uploaded by other internet users. Youtube's purpose to to provide a place for users to share their video clips and gain entertainment. Although it has the right to stop anyone from uploading indecent video clips but it is not done so because if they did that, it would destroy the main purpose of the existence of youtube.

As i mentioned, there are no limitations of video clips which viewers can view online. Viewers can basically watch anything there is present on youtube. This definitely also includes pornography. This is when the decency of the website is threatened. However, I believe that viewers have to be of a age in order to watch videos with nudity and sexual content. Hence, its does not greatly affect young childeren who goes on youtube to watch video clips.

' The teenage years are the best years of one's life. ' Would you agree with this view?

Teenage years are filled with energy, vitality and youth. With these three qualities I feel that teenage years should be the best years of one's life. A teenager is the transition stage of a child into an adult. Therefore, in this stage of life, teenagers are exposed to many new challenges and exposed to a widened social circle where they meet new friends and establish more connections with the world. Teenage years would be the most fun because we get to have fun with our friends. Many teenagers meet their true friends during this period of time whereby, they see their friends giving them support every time they suffer a setback. Friends play a very important role in our lives because we understand each other and give one another moral support. We have lesser worries because we need not bother about money matters. All we need to do is to make sure that we do well in our academic work and maintain good conduct in school. As a teenager, we are also given a lot of opportunities to learn new capabilities and develop our character. Such opportunities are usually offered by the school and we actually benefit a lot from them. With youth and being filled with energy, teenagers can engage in activities they like best. Teenagers are full of strength and ability to experience new insights which will in turn allow them to gain more knowledge. Besides that, teenagers are also curious about what is happening around them. They try hard not to lose out on any single bit of information or things happening in their life.

The teenage years are also the most meaningful years of one's life because teenagers start to have ambitions of their own at this period of time. They are certain of what they want to attain and set goals of themselves. With their goals in mind, teenagers have the motivation to improve themselves and work hard in order to achieve their target. However, teenagers tend to face peer pressure because they often compare themselves with their schoolmates. They want to achieve things which their peers have achieved in order to prove that they are capable. And when they find out that they are unable to achieve their goals, they fall into depression and resort to foolish acts. Hence, in this sensitive stage, teenagers need their parents to guide them and help them develop the right mindset. Teenagers who claim that they do not fell any family-warmth at home often turn to self-mutilation. They inflict pain on themselves by cutting their wrists or any parts of their body. Some even get into bad companies and do things which are against the law. Most of these teenagers just want to get more attention from their parents.

Teenagers tend to think more in depth than a kid and less complex than an adult. Hence, they see the world better than anyone else. They live in a world of their own, with a lot of secrets.

In conclusion, I feel that the teenage years of one’s life is definitely the best years of one’s life. With careful guidance by teachers and parents, teenagers will definitely be able to lead the correct path and believe that they are actually leading the best days of their life! (:
