Yes. I agree to the above statement to a small extent.
I personally feel that mass media has become an important part of our lives. We can live without media, such as, television, radio and newspapers. Without media, we will not learn about things which are happening in our everything life. It serves a important tool to convey important messages to everyone in the world.
To me, I feel that not all information reported in the news or reflected on the media are true. Media censors information given to them, they report things which attracts readers. Sometimes, the media exaggerates news in order to keep readers anticipate for more. One example would be Huang Na's death.

The media played a major role in reporting Huang Na's incident. They in fact caused exaggerated a lot of things and made the readers sympathize with the victim's family. A donation drive was even carried out which let her family gain a lot of monetary benefits, which was not necessary at all. During the period of time when Huang Na was found to be missing and eventually died, the newspapers, televison news and radios were all flooded with her news. Although I agree that the incident should be given great attention but the attention given was way beyond the maximum.
The media; i mean paparazzis sometimes distort truths or report news which strains relationships among people like couples. One example would be the breakup of Prince William and his girlfriend.

After reading the article, I felt that relationships are very fragile and see how much impact the media has on the society and individually? I feel that the media is merciless, they report news in whichever way they like as long as they achieve their motive of attracting more readers or viewers. But, in actual fact, the media is suppose to be truthful and used as a tool to convey news and messages to the audiences.
Generally, I feel that the media do report news. It is just that they are very selective of the information given to the public. Not everything we get from the news are facts, they may be edited or censored so they its gives a better overall picture.
